Hint: They are Relationship, Regulation, and Reflection!

When parents come to me, they're usually feeling...

  • Stuck or Frustrated

All the information from books, social media, websites, news, other family members, friends, etc. are often aimed to be helpful, but they aren't individualized. When is the last time someone asked you a series of questions about you and your family's specific needs before offering a well-meaning "to do" that ended up not working? Parents feel stuck or overwhelmed that the recommendation given isn't going as expected, and that either they or their child is falling short.

  • Burnt Out

The early years come with so many "new" experiences, for little ones and for parents. Parents are trying to give the best of themselves to this little human, while controlling what feels like the worst of themselves inevitably coming up in early childhood parenting. As if that dance is not tiring enough, parents also feel the need to keep up with pop culture norms and the latest parenting research. If it all feels like a lot, it is because it IS a lot. Without having a place to reflect on the nuances, parents hit burn out.

  • Overwhelmed or Dysregulated

Our toddlers and young kiddos have unique developmental traits that make parenthood unpredictable, emotional, and intense. They lack mastery in self-control, the ability to hold more than one thing in mind, and emotional regulation skills. These developmental traits often mean parents are on an emotional rollercoaster with very little control... while getting less sleep, less recovery time, less support, and less opportunity for self-care. These challenges culminate in one of the most dysregulating periods of adulthood that is known to exist.

That's where I come in.

We all want the best for our children, and know we are a big part of that. That's a lot of pressure!

In our search, we often get so caught up in what others are telling us is best for our child and for us, that we forget about the individual child in front of us, or the uniqueness of our own parenting or family culture.

3R Parenting works on strengthening muscles that you can use as the pillars of your parenting (the 3R's) for now and years to come, while individualizing them to you, your child, and your family's specific needs.

What if you could have more confidence and happiness in parenting right now?

  • Feel more confident and in control of parenting without forcing scripts and memorizing interventions.

  • Find more energy in your parent-child relationship, avoiding burn out and dysregulation.

  • Strengthen the 3R muscles that have been proven to positively influence confidence in parenting and child development, lifelong.

That's what I help parents do!

In 3R Parenting, I help parents of 1-6 year olds:

  • Strengthen Relationship

The first step in strengthening your parent-child relationship in getting to know yourself and your child as you are both creating the foundation for the most important relationship in your child's life now, and well into adolescence and adulthood. This includes a deep understanding of yourself, your child, and child development. This will inform strengthening the trust and quality of the parent-child relationship, as well as help your child learn more about themselves to help in future relationships for years to come.

  • Increase Regulation

The dysregulation that often comes with parenthood is a staple. There is a combination of factors that contribute to this overwhelming time, some belonging to our child's developmental stage or temperament, some specific to us as parents, and some as a result of our environment. Exploring these factors alongside increasing regulation skills result in a calmer and less overwhelmed parenting experience (for you and for your little one!).

  • Deepen Reflection

Parenting requires a crucial skills of being able to think about both your own experiences and your child's experiences simultaneously. This skill is like a parenting muscle that requires practice and support to develop. Reflecting on your experiences will help to make easier reflecting on your child's experiences, resulting in increased regulation and a stronger attachment. Developmental information and scripts are only used in the context of deepening the follow-up reflection work.
